In the world of luxury, forging relationships with cultural juggernauts is nothing new. But with marketing metrics like earned media value (EMV) becoming increasingly important, those relationships are also becoming more influential.

Fashion weeks, for example, have expanded into a pop culture playground for brands to capitalize on the relevance of a celebrity, KOL, or influencer. Besides awards season, the calendar is an opportunity for A-listers and high-flyers to solidify their spot on the fashion map.

Why tailoring is the new cool in men’s fashion

Reviving savoir faire and craftsmanship is the new mantra of the season. This is what many companies had underlined during the last Milan Fashion Week.

For the occasion, Triennale Milano and Kiton presented the exhibition “Tailoring school. A journey into education” curated by Luca Stoppini, advisor for the fashion archive of the Triennal Museum of Italian Design.

The initiative is part of a project dedicated to education that stems from the experience of the Scuola di Alta Sartoria founded in 2000 by the Neapolitan high-quality men’s and women’s apparel company Kiton.

Wall Street Journal shakes up DC bureau with big layoffs

The Wall Street Journal took a hatchet to its Washington bureau on Thursday, laying off roughly 20 staffers in a restructuring that adds to a brutal start to 2024 for the journalism industry.

The cuts focus on the bureau’s economics reporters in Washington, who will be folded into the newspaper’s New York-based business team. The bureau’s team covering US-China news will be shuttered.

In an email to staffers that was reviewed by The Washington Post, Editor in Chief Emma Tucker said the Journal’s Washington bureau will now focus specifically on “politics, policy, defense, law, intelligence and national security.” Laid-off staffers
